I Just Need a Great Resume…

I cringe when a new client tells me this. “Just help me write a great resume, that’s all I need.” Here’s what they’re usually missing:

  1. A specific, targeted job or position. Similiar positions have different names depending on the industry. Figure out your best fit BEFORE spending too much time on your resume.
  2. Research on how to best position themselves – a clear “value proposition.”
  3. A clear sense of how to highlight their skills and experience (It’s in the job description, baby!)
  4. A networking and follow-up plan. Yes, both should be part of how you write your resume.

Will I help you write a great resume? You betcha. But you’ll probably need to do some homework.
